Suarez has spoken to some of his Liverpool team-mates in the Three Lions squad to tell them he is winning his injury battle. The Uruguay striker feared he would be KO’d for the tournament in Brazil after breaking down in training with a knee problem last week. The Reds superstar was forced to have surgery, which cast serious doubt on his fitness ahead of the finals. Uruguay will face England in Sao Paulo on June 19 in what promises to be a crucial Group D showdown. If Suarez was ruled out of that match it would massively boost Roy Hodgson’s hopes of steering his side into the knockout stage. But it emerged last night the Liverpool striker has been in touch with some of his close friends in the England camp to tell them the news the Three Lions were dreading.
