Cadena Cope report that Liverpool have been beaten in their race to sign Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic by Atletico Madrid. Interest in Rakitic has been heavy ever since with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Barcelona. Discussions between Liverpool and Sevilla have been maintained, whilst Real Madrid had informed the Andalusian side that they would pay for the 26-year-old midfielder.
